Beximco Synthetics Limited (the "Company"), a member of the BEXIMCO Group, was incorporated in
Bangladesh as a public limited company. It commenced commercial operation in July 1994 and went
for public issue of shares and debentures in 1993.

The shares of the Company are listed in the Dhaka and
Chittagong stock exchanges of Bangladesh and the debentures of the Company are listed in the
Dhaka Stock Exchange of Bangladesh. The registered office of the Company is located at House No.17, Road No.2, Dhanmondi Residential
Area, Dhaka-1205. The industrial units are located at Kabirpur, Savar, Dhaka.

During the year, the principal activities of the company were manufacturing of Polyester Filament Yarn
namely, Partially Oriented Yarn (POY) and Drawn Texturising Yarn (DTY) and sales thereof. The company
employed 495 (2000: 507) employees as of 31 December 2001.
